Partial attendance to be increased at the UPC over the coming weeks

On 4 March PROCICAT issued new advice on face-to-face teaching at Catalan universities to allow up to 30% of attendance at lectures. The schools of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) will inform of how and when specific changes in attendance will be implemented over the coming weeks, since the current measures will be in place for seven days and may be extended.

On 8 February, in accordance with measures approved by PROCICAT, lectures for first-year bachelor's degree students will be resumed with restricted attendance at the UPC. Face-to-face practicals and exams for other students continue as scheduled. Each school will give details of how subjects will be taught, based on the contingency plans adopted in the autumn for these students.

In accordance with the measures approved on 4 February by PROCICAT, university campuses will be able to resume lectures with restricted attendance for first-year bachelor's degree students on 8 February. First-year bachelor's degree students at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) must consult their schools for details of this restricted attendance for each subject and group, in accordance with the hybrid model adopted for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The new measures will be in place for two weeks and may be extended.

The UPC continues to work to keep campuses safe during the pandemic and urges the university community to pay special attention to personal protection measures.

In order to ensure the inter-municipal mobility necessary for students to take exams or internships, they are urged to provide the traffic authorities with the following documentation:

- self-responsible certificate
- Enrollment document (e-secretaria)
- exams calendar

The conditions of mobility for PAS and PDI do not change and are stipulated in the RESOLUTION SLT / 1/2021, of 4 January, by which the measures in matter of public health for the containment of the epidemic outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the territory of Catalonia are extended and modified (Catalan version).

Remember that you need to justify mobility with the proof of employment/enrolment certificate from the UPC:

  • If you are a member of the teaching or administrative staff, download the proof of employment certificate from the Staff Portal, in the section Personal area > Employment relationship data > Contract documents.
